Danica Patrick has surpassed the $10 million mark for endorsement deals with her latest with Boost Mobile Cell Phones. This deal puts her in rare female company in the athlete world. She joins Maria Sharapova, Venus and Serena Williams as well as Michelle Wie as the only female athletes over $10 million mark for endorsement money. Boost Mobile Cell Phones, is the prepaid division of the Sprint Nextel Carrier. Simply put, this was a smart move for Boost Mobile Cell Phones, and it definitely makes Patrick a titan of the female athletes’ endorsement world.
So what does this mean for each party of this new and blossoming partnership? For Boost Mobile, the not unlocked cell phones, they truly get a lot out of this sponsorship. They have unlocked cell phones hard to find marketing secret. They have already targeted the young community with hip hop acts such as Young Jeezy, the Game, Ludacris, Kanye West, Jermaine Dupri and others, now they are targeting a young audience that is more rural America. And they will definitely attract more women, though many men too. See car racing is sport most popular in southern and midwest communities, communities many times overlooked in advertising. However, Patrick brings sex appeal and in general, a whole new look to the sport, as few women ever race at her calibur. So by getting her, Boost Mobile Cell Phones has it a unique niche, though a giant one at that.
For Danica Patrick it may seem like just another endorsement but it is really so much more than that. For athletes it is so important to get a foot into the corporate world as their jobs as athletes end much sooner than the regular jobs. It is because of this that endorsements become so important.
