Do smart phones hold a charge as long as a regular phone?
I just got a 3g smart phone last week. When downloading apps and going online I noticed that in a few hours my battery was almost completley dead. I just upgraded to this phone. When I had a plain phone with out internet I would call and text all day long and it would still be charged, or at least have 3 bars. I am guessing that I need to get a 2nd charger to keep w/ me in my purse at all times or a car charger. If it helps I have the T-Mobile Google Mytouch phone
It seems to be that u were using a basic phone which will be having small display which will use less power & an IC designed to do only limited jobs which requires only less power. A smart phone is like a computer which has cpu ,ram & memory card which needs much power & the main power draining component is the display. So try reducing the display brightness to minimal to save some power.
